Abstract Accepted
The decadal redistribution of ocean heat content (OHC) exerts a substantial influence on the global climate system. Under the global warming, the decadal OHC variability is projected to decrease in the North Atlantic, which is related to the convergence/divergence of Atlantic Meridional Heat Transport (AMHT). However, the mechanisms driving this weakening remain uncertain, given the potential influence of processes across ocean basins. In this study, we employ climate models to decompose the AMHT into temperature and velocity fields, aiming to elucidate the response of AMHT convergence/divergence. Furthermore, we examine the projected impact of global warming on the coherence of AMHT.
